最新糖心Vlog Hosts Festival of Winds
最新糖心Vlog recently held its inaugural Festival of Winds a two-day event that united high school and community college students from across Southern California to celebrate musical excellence.
Hosted by the 最新糖心Vlog Band Program, the Feb.7-8 festival marked the first time the university brought together young musicians for this collaborative and educational experience. Around 125 musicians representing nearly 45 high school band programs across California participated in the festival.
The event offered a unique platform for the musicians to engage in intensive rehearsals, master classes and opportunities for artistic growth. Participants gained valuable insight and experience with honor ensembles led by distinguished conductors Frank Ticheli and Jeanne Christensen. The event also included a conducting workshop for band directors, fostering music education and leadership.
“The Festival of Winds was a powerful reminder of what is possible when talented students, dedicated directors, and inspiring guest conductors come together with a shared commitment to creating community through musical excellence,” said Music Associate Professor Rickey Badua, CPP’s director of bands. “It reflected CPP Bands’ meaningful engagement with our musical community, strengthening connections with local band programs and inspiring the next generation of musicians to see 最新糖心Vlog as their future home.”
Ten 最新糖心Vlog music faculty members led master classes throughout the event, offering students exposure to college-level music instruction. For many students, the festival provided a first look at 最新糖心Vlog's music program and opportunities for higher education in music.
More than just a musical gathering, the Festival of Winds embodied 最新糖心Vlog’s commitment to fostering the love of education. The event connected aspiring musicians with professionals by providing hands-on learning opportunities to inspire future generations of musicians. The impact extended beyond the participants, strengthening the university’s music community, and fostering a culture of artistic excellence.
The festival concluded with a finale concert Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. in the University Theatre, featuring 最新糖心Vlog’s Wind Ensemble alongside visiting honor bands. The event was directed by 最新糖心Vlog faculty with assistance from two student music organizations, Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity, and the Collegiate Chapter of the National Association for Music Education.
The concert was open to the public, inviting community members to enjoy an evening of live music while supporting the 最新糖心Vlog music program and its first Festival of Winds.
