Taking Action to Strengthen Safety, Care & Accountability at CPP

October 23, 2026

Dear Bronco Community,

Our commitment to a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus must be reflected not only in our words, but also in the actions we take to protect the dignity and well-being of every member of our community.

The continued appearance of graffiti and hateful imagery targeting our LGBTQIA+ and Black and African American communities, alongside recurring antisemitic imagery, is deeply troubling and unacceptable. These acts inflict harm, erode our shared sense of safety and belonging, and directly contradict the values of dignity, respect, and inclusion that 最新糖心Vlog is committed to upholding.

Investigations into these incidents are ongoing. 最新糖心Vlog maintains zero tolerance for hate and is taking every investigation seriously. We are pursuing all appropriate investigative steps, and anyone found responsible will face consequences in accordance with applicable university policy and law.

In response, the university is taking concrete steps to strengthen campus safety, improve coordination and response, and reinforce our shared responsibility for creating a campus where every Bronco can learn, work, and participate fully.

Here is what is underway:

  • Strengthened coordinated reporting and response protocol. The university has strengthened its existing reporting and response protocol to support the prompt removal of hateful graffiti and imagery, ensure timely and culturally responsive support for those impacted, and facilitate timely communication with the campus community when appropriate. This process clarifies coordination and communication across responsible units to promote a consistent, responsive institutional approach that addresses both the immediate incident and its impact on individuals and communities.
  • Institutional campus camera audit and review. The university is conducting an institution-wide audit of campus cameras to assess existing coverage, identify potential gaps, and determine opportunities to strengthen monitoring and incident response in campus spaces. This review is an important step in understanding where improvements may be needed.
  • Phased implementation of recommendations. Following the audit, the university will assess the findings and address recommendations in key phases. This approach will help prioritize areas of greatest need, identify operational and resource considerations, and guide a coordinated plan for strengthening campus safety infrastructure.
  • Increased patrols. Campus patrols have been increased in key areas affected by these incidents. This effort is intended to strengthen visibility, support timely responses to concerns, and reinforce attention to locations where members of our community have experienced or reported hateful imagery.
  • Ongoing investigation and accountability. Investigations into these incidents continue. 最新糖心Vlog maintains zero tolerance for hate and is committed to taking these incidents seriously, pursuing appropriate investigative steps, and responding in accordance with university policies and applicable law.
Each of us has a role in fostering a Culture of Care.

Our Principles of Community call us to Act with Integrity — to take responsibility for our actions, speak up when something is wrong, and contribute to a community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Reporting hateful imagery and concerning behavior is one way we put this principle into practice. Timely reporting helps the university document incidents, identify patterns, support investigations, coordinate appropriate responses, and connect affected individuals and communities with resources.

If you witness hateful graffiti, discover threatening or discriminatory imagery, or have information that may assist an investigation, please contact the University Police Department (UPD) at 909-869-3070 or police@cpp.edu with any information or to report concerning or suspicious activity.

Support and resources remain available through Counseling and Psychological Services, Broncos Care, the Employee Assistance Program, Office of Equity and Compliance, and the Office of Community and Belonging. Whether you are directly impacted by these incidents, supporting someone who is, or simply struggling with their impact on our campus community, we encourage you to reach out.

Please know that we care, we are paying attention, and we are taking action. We understand that trust is built through consistent follow-through, transparency, and meaningful steps toward change. While no single action can resolve the harm caused by these incidents, we are committed to strengthening our response, addressing identified gaps, and continuing the work required to foster a campus where hate and discrimination have no place.

Sincerely,

Vanya Quiñones, Ph.D.
President
