Summer 2026 Application Information
The dates for the Summer 2026 program are May 27, 2026 - July 31, 2026.
Applications are due February 15, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the REU program, students must
- be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or U.S. permanent residents;
- be currently enrolled (part-time or full-time) in a degree program leading to a baccalaureate or associate degree;
- plan to be enrolled (part-time or full-time) in the fall following the summer REU program in a degree program leading to a baccalaureate or associate degree;
- have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale); and
- have completed a multivariable calculus ("Calculus 3") course.
Application Materials
The following items are required as part of the online application:
- a personal statement (not to exceed two pages using single spacing, 1 inch margins, and 12 point font) detailing relevant coursework, programming experience, research experience, motivation and expectations for the REU program, and post-baccalaureate plans;
- unofficial undergraduate transcript(s);
- two letters of recommendation; and
- completion of a set of online short-answer questions providing information about expertise in various programming languages, class standing, major, GPA, and preferred REU project topic.
