PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Academic Advising Projects

Introduction

The Academic Advising technology portfolio supports the campus by giving advisors, evaluators, and academic operations teams clearer visibility into degree progress, advising assignments, enrollment patterns, transfer credit, General Education completion, graduation processing, and student populations that need review. These projects turn advising questions into repeatable PeopleSoft reports, batch processes, and App Designer-supported tools.

Much of the work centers on student progress and degree planning. DPR reports and extracts help staff identify units-to-degree, DPR status, unit shortages, ADT pathway indicators, and transfer credit cleanup needs. Other reports focus on duplicate enrollment, split articulations, multiple plans, Golden Four Plus status, Guided Registration enrollment, MEP enrollment, GE area completion, AB1460 continuous enrollment, and graduation processing.

The portfolio also supports advisor assignment and data maintenance. Batch utilities help assign advisors by spreadsheet, remove inactive advisor assignments, purge advisor relationships when requested, and clean up transfer/test credit records that can otherwise create confusing degree progress results. Together, these projects help Academic Advising work from consistent data, reduce manual cleanup, and support timely intervention.

Strengthening Degree Progress Visibility

Degree progress work is a major theme in the Academic Advising portfolio. DPR reports and enhancements help staff understand how students are progressing, where shortages exist, and how ADT pathway information should appear in advising and graduation review contexts.

Representative projects:

  • POMAA511 DPR Units to Degree Report
  • POMAA512 DPR Status Report
  • POMAA513 DPR Students with Unit Shortages
  • POMAA520 DPR ADT Pathway Indicator

Supporting Advising Operations

Advisor assignment and cleanup projects help advising teams maintain accurate relationships between students and advisors. These projects reduce manual work and help staff keep advising data aligned with current student status and local business rules.

Representative projects:

  • POMAA206 Advisor Assignment Report
  • POMAA207 Remove Advisor Assignments
  • POMAA504 Assign Advisor by Spreadsheet
  • POMAA517 Mass Purge Student Advisor

Improving Enrollment and Requirement Monitoring

Academic Advising reports help staff identify enrollment patterns and requirement-related populations that may need intervention. These include Guided Registration enrollment, duplicate enrollment, MEP enrollment, Golden Four Plus status, GE completion, AB1460 continuous enrollment, and graduation processing.

Representative projects:

  • POMAA200 Guided Registration Enrollment Report
  • POMAA201 Golden Four Plus Status Report
  • POMAA202 Duplicate Enrollment Report
  • POMAA203 MEP Enrollment Report
  • POMAA204 Graduation Processing Report
  • POMAA210 GE Area Completion Reports
  • POMAA211 AB1460 Continuous Enrollment

Cleaning Up Transfer and Test Credit Data

Several projects focus on transfer credit and test credit cleanup. These tools support consistent degree progress results by identifying split articulations, standardizing transfer credit courses and rules, adjusting transfer credit units, and addressing duplicate credit situations.

Representative projects:

  • POMAA108 Students with Split Articulations Report
  • POMAA208 Update Duplicate Credit
  • POMAA514 Standardize TC Courses
  • POMAA515 Standardize TC Rules
  • POMAA516 TC Unit Adjust

Identifying Complex Student Records

Some Academic Advising reports help staff locate records that require human review because students have multiple plans, split articulations, duplicate enrollments, or other complex academic-record conditions.

Representative projects:

  • POMAA108 Students with Split Articulations Report
  • POMAA109 Students in Multiple Plans Report
  • POMAA202 Duplicate Enrollment Report
